Hardtail or full suspension: how to choose your first mountain bike
The first big question when buying a mountain bike is the suspension. A hardtail has a front fork only, a full suspension bike also has a rear shock.
Hardtail
Lighter, simpler and cheaper. For the same money you get better components, and there is less to maintain. A hardtail is a great choice for forest roads, light trails and learning good technique.
ორმაგი ამორტიზაცია
More comfort and grip on rough, rocky trails and steep descents. The bike is heavier and more expensive, and the rear shock and pivots need regular service.
Wheel size and fit
Most adult mountain bikes now use 29" wheels, which roll over obstacles easily. Smaller riders may prefer 27.5". Whatever you choose, the frame size matters more than any component: always test ride before you buy.
